Manual Version 4 Upgrade Courses for CEEQUAL Assessors

Following the launch of the new CEEQUAL Manual for Projects, Version 4, CEEQUAL is running a number of half-day upgrade training sessions for CEEQUAL Assessors who were trained on Version 3.1 of the Manual.

The next online Assessor Upgrade seminar will take place:

  • 28 September 2010, 1pm - 5pm, London (venue TBC)

Please note that this is the last Assessor Upgrade seminar we are running. CEEQUAL is due to launch Version 5 in 2011 and we will be running further upgrade seminars on the newly updated version thereafter.

Please contact Melanie Manton if you would like to attend the Upgrade seminar.

Assessor Training Courses

A CEEQUAL assessment is undertaken by a trained and certified CEEQUAL Assessor, who is normally part of the team that applies for the Award. So, to undertake an assessment, a member of the project team needs to have attended a 2-day CEEQUAL Assessor training course and have passed the test at the end of the course. Alternatively, an already trained Assessor can be brought into the team.

The nature of the CEEQUAL Award Scheme means that Assessors usually have experience and interest in either civil engineering and construction or environmental issues, and a knowledge base in either of these areas will be helpful in the course of an assessment. However, there is no need to be an 'expert' in either of these areas to go through the training course and be a successful Assessor.

In addition, entry onto the training course is not limited to those who are members of a project team applying for an Award. The training can also be used as an element of CPD to enhance participants' knowledge of environmental issues in construction.

The Assessor training course has been designed so that everyone who completes it successfully will be able to carry out an assessment. It covers:

  • what the CEEQUAL Award Scheme is and why it has been developed
  • the Scheme and process in detail
  • use of the CEEQUAL Manual, basic skills required and the role of Assessors, Verifiers and CEEQUAL Ltd
  • key environmental issues covered by the Scheme
  • detailed study of each Manual section including the nature of the questions, reasons for their inclusion and scoping-out advice
  • the assessment and verification process and rules.

Forthcoming Assessor Training Courses

Training courses to gain accreditation as a CEEQUAL Assessor are held regularly throughout the UK. Forthcoming training course dates are listed below. Where a specific venue is not given, these will be chosen nearer the time. Click on the book online link to register and pay by credit card through our secure online shop, or download flyer link to download a booking form for the relevant course.

The course fee is £795+VAT (£934.13) per person, which includes lunch and refreshments on both days, as well as a copy of the CEEQUAL Manual and supporting course handouts. Accommodation is not included. The courses run from 9.15am for a 9.30am start to 5.15pm on Day 1, and from 9.00am to 4.30pm on Day 2.

Please note that, due to the limited number of places available on these courses, your booking cannot be confirmed until full payment has been received.

To find out more, or if you would like to arrange a CEEQUAL training course for your organisation, please contact Melanie Manton.

Participants who pass the test at the end of the course are entitled to act as a CEEQUAL Assessor and will receive a certificate confirming their status as such.

“The advantage of CEEQUAL is that it gets people thinking about the environment – and you can save a lot of money by designing out waste!”
